“Idol Philippines” season 2 alumnus Nico Crisostomo journeys through the pain of heartbreak in his debut single “Dahan-Dahan” released under ABS-CBN’s DNA Music label.
“It’s about moving on. Ito ang pinakamahirap na stage sa isang relationship when you are breaking up. Gustuhin man natin makapag-move on nang biglaan, hindi ito possible, lalo na pag minahal mo nang buo yung isang tao,” he shared.
He co-wrote the track with Roly Halagao, while Dan Simon produced it along with ABS-CBN Music operations and creative head Jonathan Manalo, who served as the executive producer.
The new Kapamilya artist is thrilled and hopeful to be releasing his first single.
He expressed, “Sobrang saya s’yempre and at the same time unreal. Feeling ko slowly but surely magbubunga din lahat ng pinaghirapan ko and mas lalo ako na-motivate na mag-compose pa ng maraming songs.”
From a young age, the Caviteño singer-songwriter grew fond of listening to music. Still, he did not pursue it until the pandemic hit, when he would cover different songs for his livestream. In 2022, Nico auditioned for the second season of “Idol Philippines.” Some of his musical influences include Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran.
As a newcomer in the music industry, Nico described himself as passionate when it comes to reaching for his dreams.
He said, “Hardworking and driven para maabot mga pangarap, and even if I have to move a mountain just to reach that dream, gagawin ko, lalo na sa larangan ng pag-awit.”
