Moon Taeil, a member of a South Korean boy group NCT, sets a new Guinness World Record of being the fastest user to accumulate 1 million followers on Instagram.

Right after Taeil’s first post in his IG account mo.on_air, he gained a million followers in just 1 hour and 45 minutes beating the previous record of actor Rupert Grint who set the record of having seven-digit followers in about 4 hours in November 2020.

“Thank you to all the fans! I was so surprised when I heard the news! I never imagined myself becoming a Guinness World Records title holder, and am truly grateful for all the love and support. Other previous holders of the record were Jennifer Aniston, David Beckham, Pope Francis, and Sussex’s Duke and Duchess – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
As of writing, Taeil has 2.1 million followers and 9 Instagram posts, with his first post reaching 1.6 million likes and 146k comments.
He follows 7 users in his account, all of which are his co-members in NCT 127. He is now the 17th member of the group to have a personal IG account.
Taeil debuted as a member of NCT in 2016 with the sub-unit NCT U and later on made a debut in another sub-unit, NCT 127.
