Mobile Legends Team ‘RSG Philippines’ Redeems Itself As The First Filipino MPLI Champion

Mobile Legends Team ‘RSG Philippines’ Redeems Itself As The First Filipino MPLI Champion

How do you feel about this story?

A rising star in the esports scene, RSG Philippines was hailed as the grand champion in the best-of-five title showdown of the One Esports MPL Invitational 2023 on November 19 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

RSG Philippines bested their fellow Filipino defending champions, ECHO, with a score of 3-1, bringing home the title as a comeback to their elimination by ECHO in last month’s MPL Philippines Season 12 playoffs.

The team would not have earned the chance to compete for the championship without fighting against Cambodia’s esports team ‘See You Soon’ Malaysia’s esports team ‘Homebois’ in the lower bracket and another Filipino esports team ‘AP.Bren’ in the lower bracket finals.

One of its members, Demonkite, also won the ‘Most Valuable Player’ title. In an interview with One Esports, RSG Philippines says Demonkite is somewhat their lucky charm in the playoffs.

Demonkite had also been previously awarded last October by MPL Malaysia as the Regular Season MVP and Best Jungler, proving his skills have improved until the One Esports MPL.

RSG Philippines, despite their shortcomings, proved what was coming ahead for their opponents, winning as champions. It’s always about trusting the process, even if it seems impossible.
