Miguel Odron’s self-penned single “Chevy Cruze” is finally out, landing on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, as well as in countries on the Gulf region such as Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.

The new track—Miguel’s debut offering—was also featured on Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” & “Hot Tracks” and on Anghami’s “New Pinoy” playlist.

“Chevy Cruze” is produced by ABS-CBN Music International, ABS-CBN’s record label that seeks to introduce the exceptional artistry of Filipinos to global audiences. The track is also co-produced by Tarsier’s Records’ Devin Lopez a.k.a. Subzylla.

“I produced and wrote this from a very personal place so I hope fans will be able to sense the authenticity in it,” Miguel shared. “It’s about having so much resentment, but you keep coming back, you keep getting in that car when it rolls up because you hope that things get better, you hope that things change but they never do.”

Fans were definitely thrilled when the song dropped last Friday.

“Congratulations again idol Miguel. So this is it. Show them how unique your sound is. So good!” Edna Burgos commented on Facebook.

“Playing it on repeat now!!!! This is way too good, gosssshhhh proud of you Miguel!” tweeted @justlara.

“Nice track. I like the beat and his vocal arrangement in the song. Softer register is Miguel’s forte ever since,” said Kim Edward Ilagan on YouTube.

The fans’ reactions thrilled the former “Idol Philippines” contestant. “I try to always write selfishly and purely from my own experiences and for my own tastes, so for the song to have resonated with complete strangers with totally different experiences is really such a strange but beautiful moment of connection,” he said.

Stream Miguel’s “Chevy Cruze” on various digital platforms and watch out for its music video coming out on Apple Music, MYX and ABS-CBN Star Music’s YouTube channel.
