Actress Kelly Preston passed away at age 57 after two years of battling breast cancer, husband and actor John Travolta announced on Instagram.

It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.  My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.  But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” Travolta wrote.

“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered,” he stated. The Grease actor then went on to apologize in advance for the lack of presence that will ensue in the future, which is the family’s way to cope and recover from Preston’s demise.

John and Kelly are among the envied Hollywood celebrity couples, having been married for nearly 29 successful years. They have three kids together, including Jett Travolta who died from a seizure during a family holiday in 2009.

Some of Preston’s most notable roles are in Twins, From Dusk Till Dawn, Jerry Maguire, and The Cat in the Hat. She also starred in the ‘She Will Be Loved’ music video of Maroon 5.
