Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom introduce their firstborn daughter, Daisy Dove, to the world on Thursday.
Perry and Bloom broke the news on UNICEF’s official Instagram page through a black and white photo of their hands holding onto the newborn baby.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the couple told UNICEF.
Despite the “peaceful” process, the parents believe that not everyone is as fortunate as them.
“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes,” they added. “As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”
So, the UNICEF Ambassadors have launched a donation page to help deprived communities that lack access to trained health workers sand a quality healthcare.
They continued. “By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child.”
This is also Perry and Bloom’s way to celebrate Daisy Dove’s arrival.
“By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ❤️ can bloom with generosity” they ended.
Perry and Bloom met in January 2016 and tied the knot on Valentine’s Day 2019. The singer surprised the world when she unexpectedly gave a first glimpse of her baby bump in the ‘Never Worn White’ music video.
