Teen pop artist Jeremy G has dropped a stripped version of his Awit Award-winning song “Sa’yo” under Old School Records.
The passionate love song about a devoted one-sided love was first released in 2019 as part of KIKX Salazar’s “After Dark ‘2nd Hour'” EP. It won “Best R&B Recording” at the 33rd Awit Awards last year, which Jeremy described as a “great recognition.”
“Thank you Kuya @kikxsalazar. I remember the time that you sent me this song, my first original, through a private DM and the first time I met you at the recording studio. I am eternally grateful,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
Meanwhile, KIKX said they decided to release a stripped-down version of the track to give it a new flavor. “Jeremy’s vocals explored a more intimate and sensitive place that can bring more emotional feels to the song.”
As of writing, “Sa’yo” has been streamed over 1 million times on Spotify, and has earned over 330,000 combined views on YouTube.
In late 2020, Jeremy released the Yuletide song “Ngayong Pasko.” The “The Voice Teens PH” alum is also fresh from joining the first-ever “YouTube Music Night” in Southeast Asia dubbed “Love, Jona” last February 6 as one of the digital concert’s special guests.
Old School Records is the newest ABS-CBN Music label headed by KIKX that seeks to highlight music bearing the ’70s, ’80s, or ’90s sound with a contemporary twist. Recent releases from the label include KVN’s “Pwede Na Ba,” Chloe’s “All About You,” and RJZON’s “Itatago Na Lang.”
Feel the pain of unrequited love by streaming the stripped version of Jeremy and KIKX’s “Sa’yo,” now available on various digital music platforms. For more details, follow Old School Records on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
