Up-and-coming artist Jarea reels through the complexity of grieving a loved one in her first single, “Kailan Pa.”

She wrote the track as a tribute to her late mom, who passed away in 2021. Through her music, she hopes to offer comfort to listeners who have experienced the pain of losing someone they love.

“Gusto ko lang kumanta para sa grieving hearts katulad ko kasi I know how heavy it is to carry silent pain. Minsan isang kanta lang ang kailangan natin para maramdaman mong may nakakaintindi sa atin,” she said in an Instagram post.

The folk-soul single, which was produced by Moophs, marked Jarea’s beginning as a recording artist under Tarsier Records. She first teased the song at the Pinoy Media Congress 2025 held at the University of Makati, where she serenaded over 1,000 students and professors from different schools.

With her classical piano foundation, she showcased her versatility as a songwriter and wrote the Himig Handog 2020 entry “Pahina.” She also joined the second season of “Idol Philippines,” where she became one of the top 20 finalists.
