Singer-songwriter Jace Roque chronicles a story of rebirth in his new song under Star Music called “Pagbangon,” set to be released on music streaming platforms on April 10 (Friday).

“’Pagbangon’ is the story of my rebirth. How I used pain and despair as a fuel to reignite my burning passion,” shared Jace.

He revealed that writing the pop song became a way for him to process the loss of a loved one, actor and Jace’s uncle Boy Roque.

“I wrote this track as a way to come to terms with the loss of my beloved uncle, Direk Boy Roque. He was my father figure, mentor and unofficial manager. But I didn’t let my grief drown me in sorrow. My uncle prepared me for this. He made sure I am able to walk on my own when he’s not here anymore. So I picked myself up and fought harder than ever before,” he said.

“Pagbangon” was arranged, mixed, and mastered by Jace together with ABS-CBN Music creatives, content, and operations head Jonathan Manalo, who also served as the song producer.

“With everything that’s happening in the world right now, what we need is an uplifting anthem that will guide us through the dark times,” he added.

Jace was raised in a family rooted in music that includes Gino Padilla and Luke Mijares. In 2023, Jace released the song “Casual” followed by an album called “Paradiso” in 2024.
