Executive Vice President of Film Production of Marvel Studios Victoria Alonso confirmed the news and said that Ms. Marvel will not only have a big-screen debut but also a TV show in Disney Plus.
Ms. Marvel was introduced in the Marvel Comics’ Captain Marvel No. 14 last 2013. She goes by the name of Kamala Khan. Kamala was an avid fan of superheroes who had the opportunity to meet her idol, Cara Danvers, in the Civil War. She has been instantly loved by Marvel fans due to her having such a relatable personality and experience in the comics.
“The Marvel Studios original series centers on fan-favorite Kamala Khan — a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. A great student, avid gamer, and voracious fan-fic scribe, Kamala has a special affinity for Super Heroes, particularly Captain Marvel,” Marvel wrote on their official site.
The creators later confirmed some of the cast of the new Marvel film. Iman Vellani was chosen as the face of Ms. Marvel. She is joined by actors Aramis Knight as Kareem aka Red Dagger, Matt Lintz as Khan’s best friend Bruno Carrelli, and other casts Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha as per Marvel’s announcement.
Ms. Marvel is said to be directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Khan will be introduced first in the Disney+ series before joining Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the movie “Captain Marvel 2” which will be released on November 11, 2022.
