“Tawag ng Tanghalan: All-Star Grand Resbak” second placer Ian Manibale enters the music scene with his debut single “Vicente Cruz.”
Released under ABS-CBN’s DNA Music and written by Gabriel Tagadtad, the song is about love that is full of anticipation, hope, and memories.
“It’s all about love na puno ng paghihintay, pag-asa, at alaala sa Vicente Cruz. It’s a song ng isang taong naghihintay sa pag-ibig na dumating nang hindi inaasahan,” Ian shared. “Napaka-personal ng kanta at kahit hindi ako ang nagsulat ramdam ko bawat linya.”
The up-and-coming singer from Catanduanes was hailed as second placer in “Tawag ng Tanghalan” twice. First in 2021 when he joined the noontime contest’s season 5 edition and this year in the “All-Star Grand Resbak” season 2.
“Honestly, may kaunting panghihinayang. Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko ‘second na naman,’ but I’m always grateful sa kung ano ang narating ko. Second place is a biggest achievement na nangyari sa buhay ko back-to-back pa, and mas nangingibabaw yung motivation ko na mas pagbutihin at i-pursue yung music,” he expressed with gratitude.
He also dreams to share the stage with his musical influences Bruno Mars and Dionela, who became his inspiration to explore more R&B and soul in his songs.
