How many new year resolutions have you failed to achieve? For me, I have lost count. But this has not stopped me from always making a fresh set of resolutions every start of the year. All of us wants to be better. Committing to these promises, at least for a moment, gives us a feeling of some control over an unknown future.
For many years, advocates of the Laws of Attraction have reinforced three central universal principles that show amazing possibilities that life offers. They said that we should realize that we are all artists who create pictures of our intended life. Making choices and taking actions will help us realize our resolutions.
What are the three laws of attraction?
1. Like attracts Like
This law says that similar things are attracted to each other. People of the same likes and dislikes tend to attract one another. For example, we tend to marry people with the same socio-economic backgrounds. Our friends are from the same communities where we move around.
But more than this, the law suggests that people’s thoughts tend to attract similar results. Negative thoughts attract negative experiences while positive thinking produces good experiences. Our thoughts attract results. We act on the things that we believe in.
Financial abundance is a common resolution for many of us. But some people associate wealth with negative ideas like selfishness and vanity. The law of attraction says that to harness financial success, do visualization tools and techniques. Do not think of saving every month as a burden to the family. Think of saving 20% of your monthly income as “an effortless way of growing wealth”.
2. Nature abhors a vacuum
This law is based on thermodynamics that it is impossible to create a completely empty space because atoms are bouncing around and always fill any empty space. Along this line, it suggests removing negative things – including people – from your life to make space for positive things and people.
The law is based on the belief that it is impossible to have a completely empty space in your mind and in your life. So, do not allow that empty space to be filled with negativity. Fill that space with positivity. For example, when you remove all the “toxic” people in your life, you open yourself to meeting people who have the same positive disposition. Like attracts like!
3. The present is always perfect
The philosophers say that you can always do something to improve the current situation. There might be problems today, but this law proposes that, instead of feeling worried or unhappy, focus your energy in finding ways to make the present the best that it can be.
A good example is if you do not like your current job. Instead of ranting about your boss or work, think of how you will never be able to leave your current job given the pandemic now. So, learn other skills that will make you more competitive at work or study how to manage your boss. This way, you are perfecting your situation. At the same time, when you talk to your friends, instead of complaining about your current job, talk to them about the job that you want. The job that you would like to attract. Again, Like attracts Like!
Based on the laws of attraction, we are all artists. Our lives are a blank canvass of possibilities and we are in control of the finished picture. So, no matter what you are looking to achieve in life, hold on to the idea and see it in your mind’s eye. You can make it yours!
