Journey of a Hotelier, a free public webinar series on hotel management and industry career, opens registration for its second edition, to be conducted via Zoom on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

The online event is a four-part forum organized by the World-Class Hoteliers in Progress (WHIP) and the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). It aims to inspire and encourage up-and-coming and young professionals in their hospitality management degree as they pave their path in the industry.

The latest installment, which will delve on Front Office and Sales Media Relations, will be spearheaded by Elfi Jean Rosales, Marriott Hotel Manila Front Desk Manager, and Laurie Cardeño, Joy Nostalg Hotel and Suites Director of Sales and Marketing.

The industry leader will share their expertise and decades-worth of experience in the hospitality scene with focus on hotel management in their respective areas. They will likewise impart the diverse career opportunities available in the different hotel departments amid the pandemic and beyond.

Prior to working in Marriott Hotel Manila, Rosales served as Duty Manager in Crimson Hotel Filinvest Manila. She was also the Guest Services and Communications Agent of Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.

She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Hotel, and Restaurant Management from Leyte Normal University (LNU), where she served as President and Founder of the LNU Association of Student Tour Guides.

Cardeño was the Director of Sales of Radisson Blu Cebu, Park Inn Davao, Park Inn Clark, Holiday Inn Galleria and Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. Prior to her service as Director of Sales, she worked as Business Development Manager, Corporate Senior Sales Manager, and Corporate Room Sales Manager of Holiday Inn Galleria and Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila.

Cardeño finished her Bachelor and Master in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
