Governor Albert Garcia on Wednesday said the latest recorded number of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the province is lower compared to the previous daily tallies.

He said based on Tuesday night’s report of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the caseload rose to 2,081 with the addition of 15 new patients –10 from Mariveles, three from Dinalupihan, and one each from Pilar and Abucay.

Garcia said the number is lower compared to the registered cases in the past days that went as high as 73 to 81.

He said there are 896 active Covid-19 cases and all are isolated in various facilities in the province.

Meanwhile, the number of those who have recovered from the disease rose to 1,152 with the addition of 25.

The new recoveries are 12 from Mariveles, four from Balanga City and two each from Abucay, Dinalupihan, Pilar, and Limay and one from Bagac.

Also reported were two new deaths due to Covid-19, increasing the total number of deaths to 33.

Citing the PHO report, Garcia said those who died were women, a 40-year-old from Orion, and a 63-year-old from Mariveles. (PNA)
