Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Japan are assured of comprehensive reintegration assistance as the Philippine government strengthens its National Reintegration Network, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said Wednesday.

In a press release, DMW said Cacdac met with around 80 Filipino community leaders in Tokyo on Tuesday, where he assured them of the program’s aim that ensures smooth and sustainable transition for returning OFWs and their families.

“The DMW is your home in government, and we will be with you in all stages of your overseas employment,” he told the group.

Beyond reintegration, Cacdac assured the OFWs of the government’s strong commitment to their welfare and protection, underscoring the Philippines’ strong bilateral partnership with host countries, the availability of AKSYON Fund, and digital platforms that streamline overseas employment services.

“Wala nang tatalo pa sa pagpapaunlad ng ating mahal na bayan. Kahit nandito kayo sa Japan, much appreciated ng Pangulo na iniisip nyo pa rin back home. Gusto naming kayong tulungan sa journey na ‘yan. Tutulungan namin kayo (Nothing beats helping in the development of our beloved country. Even though you are here in Japan, the President appreciates that you are still thinking about going back home. We want to help you on that journey. We will help you) with our comprehensive reintegration support for productive and sustainable reintegration back with your families,” he said.

Cacdac is in Tokyo to attend the 15th Roundtable on Labor Migration in Asia, organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and International Labour Organization (ILO).

The conference focuses on enhancing integration and reintegration measures for migrant workers across Asia and the Pacific. (PNA)
