GMA Network Inks Collective Bargaining Agreement With The Employees’ Union

The GMA Network management and the GMA7 Employees Union signed the 2022-2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in a virtual ceremony held on August 25.

Regarded as one of the highest bonuses to be given by a broadcast company to its rank and file employees, the agreement contains a signing bonus of P100,000 for employees with a tenure of less than five years; P115,000 for those with five to ten years; and P130,000 for those with more than 10 years of tenure. There will also be a wage increase of P3,000 for 2022 and P3,000 for 2023.

There will be increases as well in employee benefits including calamity pay, fire and/or calamity assistance, hospitalization, and optical benefits.

Leading the CBA signing were GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong and GMA Union President Ronaldo G. Condestable.

“In so far as management is concerned, we do not look to our employees as employees but as our partners in our day to day endeavor to make our company succeed,” Gozon emphasized. “That is where I am very thankul for, ang kooperasyon at ang pagsasama natin na nagbubunga naman na inyong nakikita,” he added.

“Yan ang pasasalamat sa bukod tanging unity o kaisahan natin sa ating kompanya, ‘yung kakayahan nating maging maunawain sa isa’t isa, ‘yung nag-iisa nating layunin na ipagpatuloy ang ating Samahan,” said Duavit.

“Itong signing bonus na ibinigay ng pamunuan ng GMA ay isa sa pinakamalaki and I can attest to the fact that this CBA agreement na pipirmahan natin ang pinakamaganda sa industriya ng broadcasting,” Yalong also assured.

“Sa ating chairman, Atty. Felipe Gozon, kay sir Duavit, at kay [Mr. Yalong], at sa the rest ng nakaharap namin sa panel ng management, nagpapasalamat lahat ng manggagawa, in behalf of my members, and union ay nagpapasalamat sa kanila at sa magandang benepisyong ibinigay nila sa atin,” Condestable gratefully expressed.
