Gerald Anderson sheds light on the deeper struggles of scam victims as he explores more hidden truths and high-stakes action as ABS-CBN’s crime action-drama series “Sins of the Father” unfolds its new season.

“As an actor, mas mahirap siya kasi alam mo yung pressure na bitbit mo dahil maraming makaka-relate at dumaan sa ganitong sitwasyon kaya it inspires me more na pagbutihin yung ginagawa ko,” the Kapamilya actor said.

The show also marks Gerald’s first time behind the camera for the series, directing a high-octane 1 vs. 100 fight scene while delving into darker storylines that uncover large-scale scams like money lending, human trafficking, and employment fraud. The series also became the most watched series on iWant.

“Never ko naisip na magiging direktor ako, and at the same time I didn’t aspire to be an actor. But when an opportunity that is so good is handed to you, I try my best to learn from our directors too. Mas tumaas yung respeto ko sa kanila because it’s not an easy job. I enjoyed my experience, and I’ve learned a lot in this whole process,” he shared.

One of the series’ directors, FM Reyes, also praised Gerald’s proactive contributions in both his acting and directing roles.

“Working with Gerald, he is very generous. Kapag binigyan mo siya ng konsepto, he will work and contribute more. Nakatutok ako sa characterization kaya tinitingnan ko kung yung katrabaho ko ay brilliant enough to get all the instructions, and I’m impressed with him. That kind of attitude makes it easier to work with him,” he said.

The new season also introduces a fresh lineup of cast members, including Barbie Imperial, Binsoy Namoca, Dylan Yturralde, Eric Fructuoso, Joel Saracho, Junjun Quintana, Kolette Madelo, Lei Ang, Manuel Chua, Mel Martinez, Melissa Mendez, Reign Parani, Simon Ibarra, Zeppi Borromeo, and River Joseph.

Barbie plays the role of a breadwinner who is taking on the role of a casino dealer with Reign. Binsoy, Dylan, and Kolette are hackers who will be involved in solving a scam, while River will help Francine Diaz’s character to solve the mysteries of the scam. More characters are coming in as fraudsters and their victims, mirroring real-life scamming incidents.
