Ticking off another thing on her bucket list, Filipino actress Gabbi Garcia shared how she overcame her fear of traveling alone in Japan.

Just recently, Gabbi was applauded by netizens for making time for herself and conquering the struggles of traveling alone in an international country. On her Instagram account, the actress shared how she had a fear prior to her trip to Japan that she would be alone during her visit.

Remembering her solo Japan trip, the actress shared some of her photos that were taken by other tourists like her as she visited some attractions in the country.

“Photos captured by kind-hearted random strangers (you folks are amazing!) in Osaka. Among them were tourists from diverse places like Korea, Vietnam, Spain, and the US. Not to forget the friendly locals who also took my photos,” she said.

Gabbi then said that she had a hard time approaching other tourists at first, but then she had the courage to do so when they also asked for a photo of them in return.

Aside from being able to take good photos during her trip, the actress also shared how she conquered the ‘commute life’ in Japan, noting that she needed to know the trains that she would go on.

“Conquered the confusing (yet efficient) train system in Japan all by myself,” she captioned.

On her first solo trip, Gabbi disclosed that it became an enlightening experience for her as she did things that she never expected to do during her Japan journey.

“Before this adventure, the idea of being alone used to worry me. I feared boredom, worrying, restlessness, and just being alone with my own thoughts. However, reality has surprised me. Being on my own during this time has helped me discover parts of myself I didn’t know existed,” she said.

During her stay in Japan, she admitted that being alone gave her time to see more meaningful insights and let her discover more about herself.

Showing how fun and challenging her first trip was, Gabbi encouraged other people to travel alone every once in a while, and she was also encouraged to do this more often in the future. “I would definitely do this again, and you should too,” she said.
