First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Chairman/Postmaster General Mike Planas of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) awarded the Centenarian Personalized Stamps to Basilia Tabudlong Ortiz of Mandaluyong City and Ceasario Gubaton Lamela Jr. of Bacolod City during the LAB for ALL Service Caravan held in various cities in Mandaluyong, Bacolod and Tacloban.

“Living to 100 years old is one of life’s greatest achievements and a milestone worth celebrating,” Planas said in a news release on Friday.

Planas thanked the First Lady for her inspiring leadership and dedication to helping those in need, especially senior citizens, highlighting the significant effort and time invested in making healthcare and public service accessible to all through her LAB for ALL program.

The basis for the issuance of the PHLPost personalized stamps to Filipino centenarians is Republic Act 10868, otherwise known as the Centenarian Act of 2016, which honors and grants additional benefits and privileges to Filipino Centenarians.

PHLPost has been coordinating with local government units to include in their program the issuance of the personalized centenarian stamps as the postal agency’s own corporate social responsibility (CSR) in honoring the country’s Filipino centenarians.

The Post Office has joined the project of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos that aims to bring various government and healthcare services closer to the community and to serve thousands of marginalized beneficiaries in Mandaluyong, Bacolod, and Tacloban City.

With a wide network of more than 1,215 post offices around the country, comes with an untapped potential and challenge to bring the post office up to pace with modern delivery practices while servicing the most remote or missionary areas.

In line with this, the Post Office has also set up booths in various venues such as Mandaluyong City (Mega Manila Postal Area), Bacolod City (Western Visayas Postal Area), and Tacloban City (Central & Eastern Visayas Postal Area) to facilitate inquiries on the various postal products and services it offers to the public.
