Serving its oozing and mouth-watering Filipino classic dishes, Aristocrat made it to the list of TasteAtlas as one of the legendary restaurants in the world for 2023.

Recently, the lifestyle website TasteAtlas released its list of 150 restaurants that undeniably showed their dedication to presenting exceptional dishes to their customers.

“These are not just places to grab a meal, but destinations in their own right, comparable to the world’s most famous museums, galleries, and monuments. Each one has withstood the test of time, eschewing trendy gimmicks in favor of traditional, high-quality cuisine,” the TasteAtlas said.

Noting this list, one of the restaurants named was Aristocrat, a company that serves authentic Filipino dishes in the Philippines.

On the website, it was disclosed that the restaurant was famous for its lumpiang shanghai, mechado, and pancit canton.

“I would easily rank Aristocrat’s Lumpiang Shanghai as one of my favorites. It’s thick and packed with loads of meat, a blogger that was quoted by the website commented on one of its known dishes.

Aside from these three main courses, the website also recommended desserts such as Halo-halo and puto.

Back then, Aristocrat was only an eatery managed by Lola Asiang at her house in Marquez de Comillas which she first called “Lapu-Lapu.”

With its growing customers, it became a mobile eatery in Ermita, Manila, until the owners finally established their own restaurant branches nationwide.

“Early on she (Lola Asiang) decided that she would always cook and serve delicious and affordable Filipino food,” the Aristorcat disclosed.

This has become a proud moment for the country, noting that it highlights the culture and beauty of the Philippines through its dishes.

“Bypassing any of these distinct culinary or cultural landmarks means missing out on a quintessential aspect of each city’s vibrant tapestry of history, tradition, and local flavor,” the TasteAtlas said.

The Aristocrat was included in the list together with other known restaurants from other countries, such as L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele from Italy and Hyman’s Seafood from the United States.
