Dr. Raymundo Lo revealed in a Twitter post last March 22 that his pink orchid hybrid is named after Vice President Leni Robredo, who’s also one of the presidential bets for Halalan 2022.

Pollinated seven years ago, Lo’s orchid hybrid was registered as “Rhyncholaeliocattleya Leni Robredo” with the UK’s Royal Horticultural Society.

Lo is a clinical and immuno-pathologist and has been working for 30 years at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Lo being a certified ‘kakampink’ is pleased to share this revelation, which earned him reactions from netizens online.

Lo will have to mericlone it to get thousands of exact copies of the said flower.

“My orchid hybrid I named for soon-to-be President Leni Robredo. Seven years in the making, from pollination to blooming. A labor of love fit for one who labours for Filipinos,” Dr. Raymundo Lo tweeted.

Meanwhile, Robredo is campaigning alongside her vice-presidential running mate, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. It is known to everyone that Robredo picked the color pink as a sign of love and her readiness to listen to and serve the people.
