Actor Enrique Gil is finally back on the big screen, as he officially announced his plans to star in the upcoming comedy-adventure film “I Am Not Big Bird.”

On July 13, Filipino entertainment production company ANIMA Studios, along with Black Sheep, disclosed that Enrique will be the leading actor for its movie showing a story about a known personality in Thailand.

The movie tells the comical story of Luis Carpio, played by Enrique, and how he was thought to be Thailand’s famous sexual star known as “Big Bird” when he went to the country with his friends, marking the start of their crazy adventure.

Along with Enrique, actors Pepe Herrera, Nikko Natividad, and Red Ollero, known for their comedic acting, will star in the movie as Enrique’s group of friends, or “bird-kada.”

Behind the not-so-ordinary film are writers Lilit Reyes and Joma Labayen and director Victor Villanueva, known for his films “Jesus is Dead” and “My Paranormal Romance.”

ANIMA Studios has produced popular Filipino indie films such as Dead Kids, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, and Hintayan ng Langit (Heaven’s Waiting).

“I Am Not Big Bird” is slated to be released in the Philippines this year and will serve as Enrique’s comeback to the big screen after being inactive in the showbiz industry for three years.
