A heartwarming Facebook video shared by Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting-Que on February 7 has captured the attention of netizens, featuring the vibrant spirit of a local resident despite her old age.

Meet Pura Callangan Agustin, also known as “Lola Pura,” a cheerful 100-year-old grandmother residing in Tuguegarao City. In the viral video, Lola Pura’s lively energy shines through as she receives her PHP 100,000 aid from the government.

Despite her age, Lola Pura beams with joy, expressing gratitude for reaching a century. She shares her wish for her grandchildren to pray for her and jokes about if they don’t pray for her, she cannot pray for them. Throughout the video, she speaks in English and stands tall, showing her good health.

When asked how she feels despite her advanced age, she happily answered, “It’s very nice, and thank[s] the Lord that I have reached this age.” With eight children, most of them have already passed away, according to her.

Lola Pura’s advice to viewers is simple yet profound saying, “People love you too.” She celebrated her 100th birthday on November 7 last year. As of this writing, the viral Facebook post has garnered over 590K reactions, 42.8K comments, 63.3K shares, and 7 million views.
