Netizens applauded former actress and model Ellen Adarna and ex-lover John Lloyd Cruz for promoting a healthy parenting style for their son, Elias.
On her Instagram account, Ellen answered a question from a netizen about how John Lloyd showed support for their son even after their breakup.
The actress disclosed that John Lloyd does provide for their son financially and revealed that she gave him a breakdown of how much he should provide, which is Php 10,000, just for their son’s basic needs.
However, the actor insisted on doubling the amount. “I know he’s more than capable of giving more than that. But I told him, I cannot accept anything more than PHP 20,000,” she added.
Ellen emphasized that since they are co-parenting their son, she should also have her share of being responsible for providing for him.
“I also have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias so it’s just fair,” she stated.
With their current parenting setup, netizens then expressed their compliments to both actors for having a positive mindset about taking care of their son even though they are not together.
John Lloyd was also commended by the netizens for his love for his son and for being a responsible father.
Back in 2019, rumors went viral about the breakup of Ellen and John Lloyd, which was then confirmed in the following year by the said couple.
Despite this, the two actors were still in touch about giving their son a better future, even though Ellen is now committed to her husband, Derek Ramsya, while John Lloyd is with his girlfriend, Isabel Santos.
