The first gold recipient of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bagwis Award in the service category in Antique is more motivated to practice responsible business because of the higher consumer confidence.

The DTI conferred the Gold Bagwis Award for 2023 to engineer Edwin Eraga (EDE) Appliance Center and Services at the opening of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Week on Tuesday.

“We have more customers now who visit our store in San Jose de Buenavista,” said Eraga in an interview on Wednesday, adding they are motivated to further improve their services.

He said their store has efficient technicians who repair appliances as their after-sales services.

With the award, they do not have a hard time promoting their products.

“Aside from the customers, there are now more suppliers who would like to display their products in our store,” Eraga said.

The DTI first conferred the EDE with the Bagwis Award in 2020, which is good for three years.

Eraga said they will continue to improve their customer relations by providing more training to their employees and adhering to the fair trade laws.

“The EDE will have more community involvement activities,” he said.

In the past years, Eraga said the EDE provided relief assistance to households affected by calamities and free services to schools needing electrical installations, which they intend to increase this year.
