GMA Public Affairs, widely regarded as home of the country’s best documentary, docudrama, news magazine, and lifestyle TV programming, has successfully established itself as a digital powerhouse as it recently reached 10 million subscribers on YouTube.

The said feat makes media conglomerate GMA Network the first-ever Philippine network to have two Diamond Creator Awards for having two YouTube channels with 10 million subscribers. GMA’s Entertainment channel reached the 10 million-subscriber mark last year.

GMA Public Affairs’ YouTube channel recorded its first million-view in November 2015 via an episode of award-winning news magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho. In October 2016, it surpassed 100,000 subscribers and was given a Silver Play Button plaque by YouTube.

Then in April 2018, GMA Public Affairs received the Gold Play Button from YouTube after its channel gained 1 million subscribers. Around the same time, it garnered a total of 1 billion views. In 2019, GMA Public Affairs’ YouTube channel recorded over 2.77 billion views. The number continues to increase. As of this writing, it is close to reaching 6 billion views.

Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s segment on “Dalaga sa Davao, bakit tila hindi tumatanda?” was named as the Philippines’ top trending video on YouTube for 2019 after garnering more than 17.7 million views. Meanwhile, the Wagas episode titled “Woman gets impregnated by a tikbalang” remains as the most watched video on GMA Public Affairs based on watch time.

Across all social media platforms, GMA Public Affairs prides itself of having more than 44 million followers. The number is expected to grow further as the social media team of GMA Public Affairs continues to produce innovative and trendsetting content for all Kapuso worldwide.
