The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has signed agreements with its key shelter agencies (KSAs) for the construction of 8,000 housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

The memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund and KSAs National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation would fast-rack the nationwide rollout of 4PH.

“Patunay ito sa solidarity, pagkaka-isa at matibay na kolaborasyon ng DHSUD at KSAs, na talaga naman isa sa mga susi ng tagumpay ng (This is proof of solidarity, unity, and strong collaboration of the DHSUD and the KSAs which are key to the success of the) 4PH Program,” DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said in a news release on Friday.

The housing units include a medium-rise condominium with 372 units in Valenzuela City through the NHA.

Several developments by SHFC — 3,440 units in San Fernando, Pampanga; 1,200 units in Calinan District, Davao City; 2,135 units in Tondo, Manila; and 425 units in Sta. Mesa, Manila — are also included.

“In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to close the country’s housing gap, the DHSUD’s key shelter agencies remain united in our mission to ensure that every Filipino family has access to decent and affordable housing,” Acuzar said.

Under the MOA, the Pag-IBIG Fund will finance the construction of the developments through its Direct Developmental Loan Program.

“Ito ay game changer sa housing sector, isang innovative approach upang ma-streamline pa natin ang proseso sa 4PH, at mas maraming pamilyang Pilipino ang matulungan natin makamit ang pangarap na tahanan (This is the game changer in the housing sector, an innovative approach to streamline the 4PH process, so more Filipino families can be helped to reach their dream to own a house),” he added.
