The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday said 43 more Filipinos in Europe have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), jacking up the total recoveries to 6,220.

No new fatalities were registered but one new infection was logged in the Asia Pacific, it also reported. The overall tally now stands at 10,097 while the death toll still stands at 757.

Majority of the recovered Filipinos or some 4,164 came from the Middle East/Africa region, followed by Europe with 803, the Asia Pacific with 799, and the Americas with 454.

The active cases, meanwhile, are pegged at 3,120, at least 351 of whom are undergoing treatment in the Asia Pacific, 268 in Europe, 2,335 in the Middle East/Africa, and 166 in the Americas.

“The DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the DFA said. (PNA)
