There has been “substantial” development in the Marcos administration’s infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs) under the Build Better More program of the government, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said Tuesday.

In a Palace press briefing, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said updates on the infrastructure development program was among those discussed during the 17th NEDA Board meeting on Monday in Malacañang with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The NEDA chief said at least three IFPs have been completed since the President’s last State of the Nation Address in 2023, while six more have been given approval.

“The progress made in developing our infrastructure has been substantial. Since the President’s State of the Nation Address last year, we have completed three projects and given the green lights to six more. We currently have eight under construction,” Balisacan said.

These achievements, he said, demonstrate the significant headway in enhancing the country’s infrastructure.

“This advancement indicates a promising trajectory toward achieving nationwide infrastructure improvement and economic growth goals,” he said.

The administration’s Build Better More infrastructure program seeks to expand the country’s “Golden Age of Infrastructure” by constructing and repairing high-impact projects such as farm-to-market roads, mass transport systems, airports, expressways, bridges, and ports, among others. (PNA)
