The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will start late Tuesday the deployment of official ballots to be used in the May 9, 2022 polls.

In an advisory, the poll body said the delivery of over 60 million ballots will begin in the evening of April 19. These will come from the Comelec Warehouse located at Legaspi Street in Maybunga, Pasig City.

Aside from the ballots, the poll body said other election supplies will also be deployed.

The official ballots and supplies for the May polls will be delivered to the city/municipal treasurer’s offices nationwide.

The Comelec has printed a total of 67,442,616 ballots for next month’s polls.

Early this month, the poll body started the deployment of vote-counting machines (VM), consolidated canvassing system (CCS) laptops and peripherals, and transmission devices from the Comelec warehouse in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The various election-related equipment, peripherals, forms and supplies will be brought to regional hubs nationwide.

First to be deployed were the VM external batteries, non-accountable forms and supplies which already began in February. (PNA)
