Clark International Airport (CRK) has been awarded the Permanent Aerodrome Certificate, strengthening its position as a vital gateway for international and domestic travel in the Philippines.

“This certification is a major milestone for CRK,” Noel Manankil, chief executive officer and president of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), the operator of CRK, said in a statement on Friday.

“Achieving this in under three years shows the dedication of our team and our commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and excellent airport services.”

Manankil said the certification affirms CRK’s compliance with safety standards.

The certificate was awarded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

In a statement, CAAP said its stringent evaluation process ensures that the airport meets international standards for safety, security, and efficiency.

“Hence, this certification not only validates CRK’s operational readiness but also reinforces its position as a world-class aviation facility,” it said.

To qualify for the permanent certification, CRK passed the requirements in all areas, with its aerodrome facilities, services, and equipment found compliant with the CAAP Manual of Standards.

The certification also means the airport operator has the necessary competence and expertise to operate the aerodrome.

“As we continue to grow and connect the world through CRK, this recognition inspires us to maintain the highest standards of excellence and innovation in aviation,” Manankil said.

This development, Manankil said, comes at an opportune time as CRK prepares to accommodate an expected increase in aircraft and passenger traffic with the gradual transfer of turboprop operations, following a resolution from the Manila Slot Coordination Committee.

Meanwhile, CRK is preparing to accommodate more passengers and aircraft, following the gradual transfer of turboprop operations from Manila to other airports.

“As we continue to grow and connect the world through CRK, this recognition inspires us to maintain the highest standards of excellence and innovation in aviation,” Manankil said. (PNA)
