The local government of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, said Monday that 425 children in need of medical surgery received assistance through a partnership with Tebow Cure Philippines.

Tebow Cure Philippines specializes in providing reconstructive plastic and orthopedic surgeries for children with treatable disabilities. Since last year, 145 children have undergone free surgeries, while approximately 280 others received assistance and other treatments.

Peter Cowles, executive director of Tebow Cure Philippines, said the foundation partners with local governments nationwide to deliver high-quality healthcare to children.

The local government covers transportation costs.

During the city’s flag-raising ceremony, Mayor Warren Pabillaran highlighted Tebow Cure Philippines as a valuable collaborator in their healthcare initiatives.

“We are hopeful that upcoming health facilities and programs will further strengthen our ability to serve the best interests of the people of Malaybalay,” he said in an interview.

The foundation was put up by American Tim Tebow, a former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League for three seasons. He was born in the Philippines (Makati City) in 1987 to Baptist missionaries.

The Cure Philippines hospital in Davao City has 30 beds and three operating rooms to treat children with conditions like clubfoot, cleft lip and palate, as well as disabilities following chronic burn contractures.
