The province of Camiguin launched a modernized health information system Tuesday to streamline and improve healthcare services for its residents.
Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo signed a memorandum of agreement with Wireless Access for Health (WAH), a private digital health provider, to establish the Camiguin Health Information Exchange (CHIE).
“Through CHIE, patient medical records will be efficiently stored, allowing for easier access to medical services at hospitals,” Romualdo said during the launch.
The system will be initially implemented at Camiguin General Hospital with support from the Department of Health.
WAH’s Digital Health Platform, designed for local governments and small health facilities, enables comprehensive management of healthcare services.
The platform allows chief executives to oversee governance, health managers to coordinate facility operations, and supervisors to manage multiple users within the system. (PNA)
