Apple announced iPhone SE upgrades at their virtual event last Tuesday, March 8. The all-new and low-cost iPhone SE will run on a faster chip with 5G connectivity.

The new iPhone SE model will be the third generation of the line since its launch in 2016. “From the very beginning, we designed iPhone SE to include some of our most advanced features and technologies, while delivering the iPhone experience at an incredible price. This is important for our existing iPhone users who want a smaller phone with a great value,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer. He added that it has also been an incredibly popular choice among Apple users.

The new model will run on A15 Bionic Chip, the same in-house processor that runs the iPhone 13 line. With a faster bionic chip, users will be able to get an incredibly smooth gaming experience and faster loading of apps.

With the same 4.7 inch display, it also features innovative camera features for better photo and video quality and experience and longer battery life.

The 5G connectivity serves as the main highlight for the new iPhone SE as users can enjoy the faster wireless network at an affordable price. “And we’re bringing 5G to our most affordable iPhone so iPhone SE can take advantage of the latest generation of technology. You get super fast downloads and uploads, lower latency, and better experiences in more places,” said Francesca Sweet, Apple’s Product Line Manager.

The colors of the new iPhone SE come in Midnight (Black), Starlight (White), and Red.

Pre-order details for the Philippines are not yet revealed on Apple’s website but the price of the new iPhone SE will start from PHP 28,990.

Aside from the upgraded iPhone SE, Apple also unveiled other products at its virtual event, which includes the new iPhone 13 models with two new finishes, including Alpine Green, the new iPad Air with a new design, 5G connectivity, and M1 chip, the Mac Studio and Studio Display, two new desktop computers with M1 Max and M1 Ultra Chips, and new content that is coming to Apple TV+ this year.
