A medical device distributor will provide the medical equipment and train personnel of the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority’s (APECO) Super Health Center, set to start operations this December.

In a briefing late Thursday afternoon, APECO president and chief executive officer lawyer Gil Taway IV and Freya managing director Emmanuel Cueto signed a joint venture agreement for this pact in Parañaque City.

Taway said the agreement will boost job opportunities for people from Dinalungan, Casiguran, and Dilasag, who are expected to be the initial staff of the super health center of the Casiguran-based freeport.

He said they are set to submit to the Department of Health (DOH) the documentary requirements to secure the health center’s authority to operate, and initial services include x-ray provision, basic laboratory, ultrasound, and pharmacy.

He said Freya will have the bigger share in the revenue sharing from these services for around three years to allow them to recover their cost.

“Up until the cost is recovered, there’s a little more profit on Freya’s side. After we recover the cost, it will be 50-50. And then after a certain period of time, it will be bigger in APECO,” he said.

Daily operations of the PHP16.83-million super health center, completed last February, will be handled by the International Workplace Group (IWG), APECO announced on Monday. (PNA)
