Among Us, one of the most popular indie games in recent years, is expanding to a new platform, allowing players to experience all of the crewmate and impostor shenanigans in first-person virtual reality.

As announced during The Game Awards, a surprising clip from Innersloth showed that Among Us VR is currently in development. As if they were genuinely in the positions of crewmates and impostors, players will soon be able to fulfill their responsibilities, vent, kill their adversaries, and negotiate on who appears suspicious.

Given a brief trailer, Among Us VR appears to include many of the tasks that are currently available in the mobile and console versions of the game.

In a blog post, Innersloth confirmed the Skeld will be the only map available in this version, implying that chores introduced in other maps will likely not be included. It has yet to be revealed whether or not Among Us VR will receive additional maps in the future.

Moreover, Innersloth revealed that Among Us VR will not be compatible with other versions of the game, regardless of console. Only other VR gamers will be allowed to play. In the near future, the platforms with which Among Us VR will be compatible will soon be announced.

There is no release date for Among Us VR, but more information is expected in the coming months.

Fans of the game may now play the most recent update, which brought significant minor tweaks as well as a crossover with Arcane, the animated Netflix series based on the League of Legends universe.
