As more countries further eased travel restrictions, low-cost airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced Wednesday additional flight frequencies to several international destinations.

“We are seeing a more than 70-percent increase in international short-haul flights, and a 99-percent increase in passengers from the third quarter. That’s why we’re adding more flights in key ASEAN and North Asia destinations,” CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero told the Philippine News Agency.

Notable in CEB’s list is the increase in flight frequencies between Manila and Hong Kong (from 21 weekly to 28 weekly starting Oct. 30); Manila-Jakarta (from twice weekly to seven weekly beginning Oct. 30); and Singapore-Manila (from 14 weekly to 21 weekly beginning Oct. 8).

From Oct. 30, CEB is also increasing its weekly flight frequencies between Manila and Bangkok (from 10 to 14); Fukuoka (from three to four); Ho Chi Minh (from four to seven); and Kuala Lumpur (from four to seven).

Likewise, starting Oct. 31, weekly flights between Manila and Dubai will increase from 10 to 14. Also on Oct. 31, CEB will resume the Davao-Singapore and Manila-Kota Kinabalu routes, with thrice weekly and twice weekly services, respectively.

The airline did not mention the specific dates for the increase in weekly flights between Cebu and Singapore (from three to seven); Bali and Manila (from five to seven); Manila and Taipei (from two to three); and Manila and Hanoi (from three to four).

Romero said CEB is also increasing its Dubai flights to twice daily starting Oct. 30 to cater to Filipinos traveling to and from the Philippines.

In a statement, CEB chief commercial officer Xander Lao said they are hoping to reopen more flights in anticipation of other countries easing restrictions. (PNA)
