The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has reiterated its commitment to further enhance its defense ties with the Kingdom of Thailand as ranking officials of the Filipino military joined the celebration of Royal Thai Armed Forces Day Reception.
In a statement Friday, the AFP said the event highlighted the enduring friendship and defense cooperation between the Philippines and Thailand.
AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. attended the reception, which was hosted by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines Makawadee Sumitmor, alongside senior defense and diplomatic officials from both nations, at the Dusit Thani Hotel on Feb. 19.
“The AFP reaffirmed its commitment to deepening its defense ties with Thailand through continued engagements and high-level exchanges. The celebration of Royal Thai Armed Forces Day is a testament to a shared vision of peace and prosperity,” the AFP said.
One of the highlights of the evening was the martial and cultural showcase featuring the Royal Thai Army Martial Arts Team and the Philippine Army Arnis Team, alongside the traditional Thai “Khon” dance and the PAF String Ensemble, demonstrating a shared respect that goes beyond defense cooperation and celebrates the rich heritage of both nations.
