ABS-CBN, the country’s leading content provider, bagged four awards at the inaugural edition of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards, which recognize projects that showcase innovation and excellence in broadcasting in the areas of technology, digitalization, and engineering.

ABS-CBN News won the Broadcast Innovation award for its “OB Ranger Project” that helped the company maintain multi-camera live coverage from the field at no additional cost by repurposing old equipment considered “for disposal.”

Meanwhile, iWantTFC was also honored with the Excellence Award for OTT Platform for meeting the changing viewing habits of audiences wherever they may be. ABS-CBN Global and the ABS-CBN Broadcast Technology team also won the Innovation Award for Cloud-Playout Migration that addressed traditional playout problems on iWantTFC while saving on operational costs.

ABS-CBN subsidiary Big Dipper, also clinched the Innovation Award for Audio Description for providing an inclusive viewing experience for hearing-impaired audiences.

Head of ABS-CBN Digital News Gathering Val Cuenca, Operations Desk editor Kerchlynn Tan, and head of ABS-CBN Media Engineering Patrick Ongchangco received the awards of ABS-CBN.
