The provincial government of Camiguin on Wednesday released cash incentives to student-athletes who won medals at the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet earlier this year.
The provincial government distributed PHP283,000 to 42 athletes who won 45 medals in various sporting events held in Bukidnon province in March.
In a statement, Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo said 35 athletes received PHP5,000 each for winning bronze medals, while 11 received PHP8,000 each for winning silver medals.
“Two gold medalists received PHP10,000 each, as we continue to support student-athletes showing interest and talent in sports,” he said.
Camiguin finished the NMRAA 2026 medals tally in 12th place overall.
Romualdo said the provincial government is already preparing to host NMRAA 2027. (PNA)
