St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation, Inc. joined the ASEAN Silver Economy Innovation Gallery, a side exhibition to the ASEAN High-Level Meeting on Unlocking the Silver Economy. Anchored on the theme Healthy Ageing and the Care Economy, the exhibition highlighted scalable solutions that transform healthcare into a driver of resilience, dignity, and social value.

The Foundation’s mission is centered on restoring health, movement, and connection, ensuring beneficiaries of all ages remain active participants in everyday life. By prioritizing the ageing population, the Foundation underscores its belief that longevity must be matched with independence, empowerment, and meaningful engagement.

At the exhibition, SLMC Foundation showcased pioneering programs that leverage medical technology to restore independence and quality of life:

  • Limbs for Life – Prosthetic limbs and mobility care that empower individuals to move with dignity.
  • We Hear, We Listen – Hearing screenings and provision of hearing aids, reconnecting underserved communities.
  • Evelyn D. Ang – Dana Ward – A dedicated 40-bed facility that delivered high-quality healthcare to 144 older persons between August 2025 and April 2026, representing 31% of its total cases.

These demonstrations reflected St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation’s holistic approach, addressing both physical mobility and social connection.

Sustaining Communities Through Pillars Of Care

St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation’s program pillars go beyond treatment, creating opportunities for beneficiaries of all ages to regain health, mentor others, and drive value across communities and economies

  • Social Service & Medical Outreach – over 237,000 lives healed through free specialized care, surgeries, and skilled medical services for indigent and remote populations, restoring health and sustaining community contributions.
  • Medical Education – Scholarships and continuing medical education programs that cultivate the next generation of doctors, ensuring a sustainable healthcare workforce. We have supported 127 scholars to date.
  • Medical Research – Advancing healthcare excellence and transparency through innovation and knowledge-sharing, creating a culture of continuous improvement that benefits diverse populations.

These pillars transform healthcare into a platform for empowerment where beneficiaries are not only recipients of care but also active agents of mentorship, innovation, and resilience.

Aligning With ASEAN’s Silver Economy Vision

The ASEAN Silver Economy Innovation Gallery recognizes that, alongside policy and programmatic responses, the private sector and social enterprises play a vital role in advancing healthy ageing. St. Luke’s Medical Center Foundation’s participation exemplifies this vision, showcasing scalable solutions that promote self-reliance, extend productive engagement, and enhance inclusion among older persons. The Foundation’s combined medical innovation and social empowerment demonstrate how healthcare institutions can lead in shaping the silver economy, driving impact across generations.
