The soon to rise innovation center inside the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) complex in Taguig City will boost job-ready skills in the National Capital Region (NCR), the agency said Tuesday.

The Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTIC)-NCR facility, expected to be completed by March 2027, was designed to equip learners, workers, and jobseekers with competencies aligned with emerging industries, TESDA said in a news release.

“Through the RTIC-NCR, we are expanding opportunities for Filipinos to access advanced skills training that leads to better employment, higher productivity, and inclusive growth. This innovation center reflects our commitment to future-proofing Filipino talent,” TESDA Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez said.

The center will also serve as a central hub, linking government agencies, industry partners, higher education institutions, and training providers to promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation.

It will also support higher-level qualifications, including National Certificate (NC) Levels III, IV, and V, as well as Diploma programs responsive to industry demands, TESDA said.

The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank, and seeks to strengthen the country’s technical and vocational education and training system. (PNA)
