The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) donated PHP141 million worth of Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for distribution to beneficiaries all over the country.

In a statement, PAGCOR said a memorandum of agreement with PCSO was signed Wednesday at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City to formalize the partnership.

The donation covers 70 fully equipped PTVs that will be distributed by PCSO to qualified local government units (LGUs) to improve access to emergency medical transport and healthcare services, especially in far-flung and underserved areas.

Each PTV unit comes with a GPS navigation system, stretcher, medical oxygen, wheelchair, and first aid kit, ensuring safe and efficient patient transfer during emergencies.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the donation reflects the agency’s full support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s push to strengthen the country’s health and emergency response system.

“These vehicles are not mere means of transport – they are lifelines that can spell the difference between life and death for those who need immediate medical attention,” Tengco said.

“By combining PAGCOR’s resources with PCSO’s long-standing experience in health-related programs, we can reach more communities and save more lives,” he added.

The 70-unit donation forms part of PAGCOR’s commitment to provide a total of 246 PTVs to local government units, hospitals, and frontline agencies across the Philippines.

Since February this year, PAGCOR has already distributed 60 PTV units to various beneficiary institutions and agencies. (PNA)
