Government agencies provided a variety of services, including medical and social, in the Bicol Region during the Handog ng Pangulo 2025: Serbisyo Para sa Lahat over the weekend.

In a report, Department of Social Welfare and Development-5 Director Norman Laurio said 15,112 family food packs were distributed to households affected by the southwest monsoon and an ongoing low pressure area, and 1,750 individuals were served with hot meals.

Meanwhile, products from the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) were featured in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo fair, showcasing the skills of small-scale producers and promoting local enterprise development and food accessibility.

“Through the Handog ng Pangulo 2025 celebration, we continue to bring essential services and programs directly to the people. This is our way of ensuring that every Bicolano family feels the care and commitment of the government,” Laurio said.

The Department of Health in Bicol and the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center conducted a school-based immunization program and free health services.

Bicolanos enjoyed other free health services such as vaccinations, consultations, mobile X-rays, HIV screening, deworming, family planning, nutrition services, maternal services, oral health services, mental health and psychological first aid.

Meanwhile, at least 524 applicants were hired on the spot.

“Out of the total registered job seekers of 1,912, we have 524 hired, 138 nearly hired, and 1,137 qualified. It’s a good number for the applicant and for the employers; we are thankful for them,” Department of Labor and Employment-Bicol Regional Director Imelda Gatinao said. (PNA)
