Governor Sol Aragones has launched the “Isumbong Mo Kay Gob” program, establishing 24/7 help desks in eight district hospitals and the provincial hospital to streamline transactions and provide immediate response to patients and health workers.
The initiative, rolled out on September 8, deploys 90 newly hired help desk officers who will be stationed in emergency rooms, outpatient departments, and hospital lobbies.
Provincial Information Officer Danilo Lucas said the officers will provide round-the-clock service in three shifts, with each desk equipped with a dedicated cellphone for faster communication.
Lucas said the program was formally launched Thursday afternoon at the Laguna Medical Center lobby, with the participation of Dr. Eric Tayag, former Department of Health undersecretary and now provincial health consultant.
Lucas explained that the program institutionalizes hospital help desks to strengthen accountability, improve responsiveness, and ensure that patients and health workers are both heard and supported.
He added that the officers, mostly youth, underwent screening and training to guarantee professionalism in public service, in line with Aragones’ directive that “the first requirement is to have a heart for service.”
During the launch, Tayag also presented the implementing rules and regulations of Executive Order No. MCA-01, series of 2025, which establishes the “Bawal Mataray sa Ospital ng Laguna” (No to the Rude in Laguna Hospitals) policy.
The measure seeks to promote “malasakit” (compassion), empathy, and professionalism among all personnel in hospitals, rural health units, and other provincial health offices.
“With the rollout of the ‘Isumbong Mo Kay Gob’ program, the provincial government aims to reinforce a culture of compassion and responsiveness in Laguna’s public health system,” Lucas said. (PNA)
