The Philippine Army (PA) on Monday said it has collected 3,015 blood bags through its Army-wide Simultaneous Blood Donation held on Aug. 23, as part of its observance of National Heroes’ Day.

PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala, in a statement, said the blood drive was spearheaded by Army commander Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, who commended all participating military and civilian personnel for their dedication and heroism.

“(Lt. Gen. Nafarrete) led the activity and commended the troops for their active participation and enacting heroism through their donations,” he added.

Dema-ala also said a total of 3,015 blood bags have been donated by eligible Army personnel and reservists, civilians and stakeholders, and other uniformed personnel.

“During the activity, Lt. Gen. Nafarrete conveyed the Philippine Army’s continuous engagement with stakeholders to provide lifesaving support to the communities, including the conduct of voluntary blood donations,” he added. (PNA)
