In a perfect blend of classic Disney magic and Filipino artistry, Filipino actress and singer Marydale “Maymay” Entrata has lent her voice for her rendition of “Waiting on a Wish” titled, “Nasaan Ang Hiling?”, for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of the Disney classic “Snow White”.

Sung by Rachel Zegler, who also portrays Snow White, “Waiting on a Wish” encapsulates the character’s yearning and optimism towards life, which resonates universally, and captures the essence of the princess’ dreams and desires.

In Entrata’s version, “Nasaan Ang Hiling?” infuses Filipino linguistic nuances and emotional depth which offers a fresh perspective, and allows audiences to connect more intimately with the narrative, bridging the cultural gaps and representation to the Filipino people.

Entrata’s inclusion to the franchise was met with utmost enthusiasm, with Disney PH sharing on their Instagram post: “It’ll be worth the wait! Get ready to be swept away!”

The release of “Nasaan Ang Hiling?” emphasizes Disney’s mission to cultural inclusivity and diversity, ensuring that audiences from all over the world can see themselves being reflected in these classic fairy tales.

Entrata’s rendition also shines a spotlight on Filipino talent which serves as inspiration for new artists to dream big and achieve their goals. “I want this song to help them to keep dreaming and to have faith, kasi with faith, anything is possible,” Entrata said.

To further celebrate the release of the song, Entrata will also perform “Nasaan Ang Hiling?” at SM Lanang Premier in Davao on Mar. 21. This live performance will provide fans with the opportunity to experience the magic firsthand and witness the fusion of Disney’s storytelling and Filipino musical talent.
