The provincial government of Misamis Occidental has reported significant achievements this year, citing its “5Ms” framework as a driving force behind its economic and social development initiatives.

In a statement Tuesday, Governor Henry Oaminal Sr. said the 5Ms —Matinahuron (respectful), Matinud-anon (truthful), Matinabangon (helpful), Maligdong (upright), and Mahigugmaon (loving)—fostered a collective effort to advance the province’s economic and social service agenda.

“This year, we have seen remarkable strides in improving our communities, strengthening our economy, and enhancing the quality of life for all Misamisnons,” Oaminal said.

Among the key achievements under Oaminal’s administration this year is infrastructure development worth more than PHP3 billion, including multipurpose facilities, road concreting, and water system projects.

These efforts also support improvements in tourism, healthcare, and education.

The province’s free hospitalization program has provided assistance to 42,000 individuals, while the Asenso Misamis Occidental Medical Center is 70 percent complete and expected to open next year.

In agriculture, the Asenso Rice Farmers Full Assistance program has significantly boosted rice production, achieving an average yield of 5.3 metric tons per hectare.

Additionally, the Asenso Pamilya: One Family, One Professional program has supported 2,862 beneficiaries, resulting in 343 graduates.

“These initiatives are a testament to the power of unity and shared commitment,” Oaminal added, underscoring the province’s continued efforts to uplift the lives of Misamisnons. (PNA)
