The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cavite Provincial Office has enhanced its support for seasonal workers and parolees by distributing additional livelihood packages.

In a phone interview on Thursday, Provincial Director Marivic Martinez said DOLE-Cavite had allocated PHP1.3 million to assist 55 seasonal workers.

The latest distribution took place on Wednesday at the provincial office in Dasmariñas City. The livelihood assistance included 44 rice packages, two sewing kits, six dishwashing kits, and three baking kits.

Earlier, on Tuesday, 25 seasonal workers received livelihood packages valued at PHP625,000, which included baking supplies and rice packages.

Additionally, 40 parolees from nearby cities and towns were given livelihood packages worth PHP591,395,00 at the DOLE office in Imus City, which featured carinderia (eatery) supplies, parlor equipment, computer repair kits, frozen goods, and dishwashing supplies.

Martinez said these efforts are aimed at helping individuals reintegrate into society by providing them with resources to manage their own businesses and redirect their lives positively.

“DOLE remains steadfast in its commitment to providing decent job opportunities and livelihood assistance to every Filipino,” she added. (PNA)
