Forty-two couples from the remote barangays of San Remigio town in Antique will tie the knot during a mass wedding on April 14.

Mayor Margarito Mission Jr. said Wednesday the mass wedding would allow the couples to officially register their marriage.

He said that the couples from barangays Panpanan I, Panpanan II, Sumaray, Lapak, Walker, Insubuan, Rizal, Orquia, and Lumpatan would converge in Barangay Sumaray where the wedding would be held.

The local government will prepare wedding cakes for each couple, lunch, and gifts.

In February, eight couples from Barangay Bugo, San Remigio also got married in a mass wedding.

During the mass wedding on April 14, the LGU will also conduct free medical consultations. (PNA)
